AS1851 Compliance, Building Code and applicable Standards.

Council reminder provides the due date and a copy of the Fire Schedule against which the building is to comply.

The due date is critical as it drives the timing for all inspections for the year.

The fire schedule will dictate the fire measures against which the building must be certified to comply each year.

The fire schedule will, for each measure, specify the Building code (BCA) and the relevant Australian Standard including the specific year of standard to comply with.

Building fire orders or BCA engineered building upgrades may change the measures against which the building is held. These are the only mechanisms available to amend the fire schedule.

There can be fire measures present within a building that extend beyond the registered Fire Schedule. These will have a maintenance requirement even though the issue of the AFSS is not directly dependent upon them.
