AS1851 is written to provide a standard to which fire protection systems and equipment are maintained ‘such that they reliably continue to meet the requirements of the approved design and are likely to do so until the next scheduled activity’. Routine service procedures are not intended to be used as substitutes for installation and commissioning practices.
Fire Schedule is the schedule of fire measures that the building is to be maintained and certified to.
Fire Engineering Reports and Alternate engineering solutions are often assembled when a building employs alternate approaches to deliver fire safe solutions that deviate from the Code or Australian Standard without compromising safety. These are part of the building engineering and become a registered measure on the fire safety statement. They are also required to be considered during the inspection and maintenance activities for the building.
