Paths of Travel

A “path of travel” is a designated egress pathway intended to be utilised for evacuation purposes in the event of a fire

WHEN

  • All paths of egress are compliant, accessible and free of obstruction

HOW

(What method is used)

  • Check signage including exit illumination, penalties and door signage per NSW legislation
  • Check operation of doors and that all paths are free of obstruction
  • Ensure no conflicting signage is present and that the correct egress path is clearly indicated
  • Check against any and all specific requirements for the building to ensure no changes are evident to site
  • Check final exit door is either hinged correctly and outward opening or has parrot beak door latches installed
